Wanting to get a clothesline for the backyard, specifically the "umbrella" style that holds two end bars and a bunch of lines between them, but can fold up when not in use so you don't walk into it. Not the same as the Hills Hoist style which has fewer lines in concentric squares. Lowes carries the type I'm after, but geez that looks cheap - so many plastic pieces that look like they'd disintegrate after a couple summers of outdoor UV.

Is there anyone making this style of clothesline, but actually built to use?

Like this? Some friends of mine have a small business and sell a really nice sturdy fold up umbrella style one. https://www.bestdryingrack.com/drying/outdoor-umbrella-clotheslines.html

I'd come across that one in searching (and don't live too far from them lol) and it looks like good build quality but it doesn't seem like it has as much line available as the style of that Lowes listing.

Although looking closer at it, the Large lists basically the same line length. Looks like it mostly just spreads them out much farther - requires a 14' circle instead of a 8.5' circle. I might consider that one if I can't find any more compact ones with the same construction.

Do you live near Amish or Mennonite communities? You may have luck shopping at the hardware stores they own.

Closest ones I can think of are several hours away, but that's a good idea, I'll have to see if there are any closer.

These are popular in Australia, there's a drinking game where you put a bag on wine on clothespins and see who it lands on.
