My Cuisinart convection toaster oven is still going strong, with at least 10 years of service. Good brands, both of them.

My Cuisinart ice cream maker has never frozen the ice cream. It’s basically just a glorified mixer. I used to like their brand until that appliance. Now I’m not so sure.

I think it depends on what the appliance is. I used to have a Cuisinart ice cream maker. I used it a couple of times and then decided it was more work than it was worth. I like my ice cream frozen so hard it's hard to get a spoon into it and the Cuisnart just didn't do that.

The old bucket and salted ice churns might come closest to that, with the freezer bowl for the Kitchenaid in second place, but no dedicated home ice cream maker can freeze the batter that hard by itself. They get it to a soft freeze, and then it needs to finish for a few hours in a freezer.
