I got one of there wool jackets around 5 years ago for cheap from a store that was going out of business. As far as the jacket goes, its super warm, but I didn't get to use it much before I got too big in my back and shoulders and the jacket stopped fitting (I can still wear it, but I can't lift my arms up without looking like some weird t-rex, and as far as I know, I can't tailor it). Thinking about getting the same jacket again, but I want to know how well they hold up for more regular use.

this is the jacket in question: https://londonfog.com/collections/mens-trench-coats/products/mens-wool-button-front-coat-with-contrast-bib?variant=43248228368629

London fog is a good brand. Durable.

40 years ago they were amazing, but I've heard the quality has slipped significantly in recent years.

I can't speak to their current quality, but I'm still using my trench from circa 1983.

Have a trench coat they made, found it at a goodwill. Bought it at age 19. I'm 41, it's still perfect, no holes.

If you’re looking for wool I would recommend Sleeping Indian. I use their heavy wool jacket for hunting, I abuse it like no other, and it’s held up wonderfully.

Unless you are wearing it in the coal mine, it should hold up just fine, but make no illusions that this is a lifetime or close purchase. Its a partial wool jacket with high polyester content with a low price made in a country not famous for coats. Look at the specs on something roughly similar: https://www.schottnyc.com/products/navy-peacoat.htm

Considering you can get their socks and some other things at Walmart now, I would say their quality is probably slipping a bit. That being said, directly from them the quality may be better.

Check their FAQ, doesn’t look promising.

I assume they exist only as a name at this point. The original London Fog is surely long gone.
