Why'd you keep the box all these years?

Saw this picture and thought I was tripping. Purchase date on the manual is listed as 8/31/96, which makes it about 3 years older than I am! I borrowed it from my parents to use at my Friendsgiving this past weekend.

My parents got the same one for their wedding in 89. Still works great.

There’s an hamburger restaurant where I live and I’ve been going there since I was a little kid, early 2000s, they are still using those same electric knives to cut hamburgers in half so the client can eat without makin a mess. They do it by default on every hamburger/sandwich

Mine is the same, my dad gave it to me with the box. It’s the bomb for carving ham but the real best use I’ve gotten out of mine is cutting foam for diy cushions. Omg it is the easiest way to cut foam imaginable. I’d keep it just for that if nothing else.

And the box, it’s nice to keep it stored in there.

i can't see these things without being reminded of Ennis Del Mar's ex wife's new beta husband using one of these to carve a turkey. that scene makes these things seem so lame.

Everytime I have seen these used they have been more work than my meat carving knife. Cuts meat like butter and will go through bone too
