In defence of the new ones, I’d say they’re still the most robust thermoses about even if the quality has dropped with the offshoring of production.
I’ve had Thermos, Kambukka and neither hold a candles to modern Stanley in robustness.

This post has sparked some reading and it appears that you can now buy more robust versions of the Aladdin vacuum bottle that have the charcoal liner and thicker stainless. Perhaps the market spoke and they responded?

I lived with an old school thermos for a few weeks and the leaks and dribbles down my clothing were a buzz kill, got a thermoflask and haven't looked back
