Ive had 3 headsets in the past, all of which have ended up not working one way or another. Im looking for headset for gaming and listening to music and watching movies. It needs a microphone too, if anyone has any reccomendnations, I would appreciate

I like the Sennheiser GSP 670 Wireless Gaming Headset. Mine is three years old with about 300 hours of gaming on them. Over the ear, boom mike that swivels out of the way, cordless rechargeable, adjustable headband fits big heads like mine, you can game while it recharges via a removable USB cable (this is a rare feature, btw - most others have to shut down to recharge)

Is it durable as in BIFL? Realistically, no. These have had the ear cloth separated from the headset, but it's still quite comfortable without the cloth covers. I'm not particularly hard on headsets, I own four working pairs of various brands and have two more that were broken and got tossed. The Sennheiser so far has been the best of the lot. Are you as hard on headsets as I am?

You can likely demo this or a newer model at a big box store, a la Best Buy etc.

The higher end Sennheiser headphones are built fairly well, their cheapo stuff is well, cheapo.

Probably an unpopular opinion but I bought the Hyper X Cloud 2 headset on sale for $30 and they have been used almost every single day for around 6 hours a day for over 2 years. No issues with them at all

Ive owned a pair of these before and the microphone piece fell out and turned out the jack was messed and there was no fix unless a replacement mic

Beyerdynamic MMX 300 is a pretty solid headset. It copies a lot of its characteristic to the DT700 headphone which is a workhorse and is a staple in studio recording. The MMX 300 is pretty simple looking and has almost the same parts so hopefully, it’ll last longer than any RGB headphone.

I woud recommend beyerdynamics , some of their models are even made in Germany and reasonebly priced like the dt 770/990 pro (like 120-150€) , but they dont have a microphone. Just visit their website, they have some models with a microphone( but sadly the cheaper ones are not made in Germany)

I have the Sennheiser PC38X and it's pretty solid. I use it for meetings so I've never rage quit and hurled it across the room, but it's pretty sturdy. I also like that it's got a mechanical switch that turns off the microphone when you flip it up, so you don't have to click a button or something to mute.

The BIFL answer is Sony 7506 with a mod mic.

Probably ~$150 all in. The 7506’s are absolute workhorses and are known around the industry to sound fantastic and LAST.

I have a Jabra 20 Evolve. It's more for calls and music but mic is decent. It seems to be very good quality. Sound is excellent.

I have a Corsair Virtuoso that is fairly overbuilt. Good quality but not very comfortable for extended periods of time (3+ hours). Recently got a Steelseries Arctis Nova 7 and it’s great. The pro model is a bit nicer, but I didn’t care for the rubber/leather part around the ear. Both wireless, but only wireless with the dongle (I believe).
