I had a black one that I was very upset having to throw it out. The internal battery must've started to go bad as it would start it's alarm at random times during the day. Thing was 20+ years old. Couldn't figure out how to open it without causing external damage and couldn't find the same one. I recently bought the updated "cube" model but don't like it as much as this one!
