I have a bunch of different size “martex” 100% cotton towels I got from my grandparents when they were both gone that I still use, I know for a fact they had them in Florida 25 years ago, and I’ve used them for at least 5 of those years, I’m actually probably underestimating. Still soft, don’t use dryer sheets much Or other kinds of fabric softener ever.

Oh man... Reminds me of the yellow faux crocodile patent leather shoes I had as a kid that both me and my parents absolutely ADORED. My parents handed all my clothes down to my younger cousin. They aren't big on keepsakes whatsoever, but they insisted that my SIL give the shoes back once my cousin grew out of them. Long story short, my cousin never even wore them and they got lost in the hand-me-down cue and were never seen again.

Have a Marimekko couch cushion, 12 years old and counting. Only minor fraying on the corners, pillow itself and case are still A-OK. Squash the hell out of it daily.

Oh, man. We had placemats with these vehicles when I was little. I just had great flashbacks to pressing my fork gently into the surface then watching the indentations disappear.

I’m impressed. I don’t use fabric softener, use vinegar, make sure I’m not drenched after showering then using the towel, and hang towels dry after getting out of the shower too and after a couple years they still smell like mold. How did your towel last?

I still have a crazy Marimekko 3-ring binder my mother gave me, in a pattern I’ve never seen. It holds family recipes, and I’m so grateful for it!
