My wife had her heart set on a Fjallraven crew neck sweater for Christmas, I got it for her on 20 or 30 percent discount during cyber week (was still around $150). The plot twist came today: she got me an LL Bean commando sweater, apparently for $79. Both are 100% wool and the LL Bean feels noticeably thicker and heavier. So I guess my question is this: is the ‘lifetime mending’ (or anything else about Fjallraven clothes) worth more than double the price?

Can’t comment on clothes, but I got one of their backpacks ~6 years ago and the zipper failed maybe 2 years ago. I took it into the store and they gave me a brand new one from the back no questions asked. I was in and out in 2 minutes. I would assume it’s a similar policy with their clothes

They will repair things for sure - my partner had a pair of their trekking tights start to lose the threads on one of the zippers and she dropped it off and picked it up a week or two later repaired.

Never had any reason to try their lifetime mending, their stuff just holds up. I have lots of vintage fjällräven stuff that I thrifter, and also got from grandparents. Super quality stuff and have never had a reason to use it

A nice alternative to the LLB commando sweater is their waterfowl sweater. Similar look, but the shoulders are woven rather than patches. I prefer this look. Great sweater.
