Currently own the Oster C100, has done me well for the past 5+ years. Looking to upgrade as I need a clipper which will perform a closer cut to my head as my hair is thinning over the years.

I usually perform a buzz cut, with the lowest no guard (0.5mm) on the sides and a highest with no guard (2.5mm) on the top.

Been tossing being Wahl and Oster. But don't know the best for me, for just buzz cuts, clean and shortest cut.

Wahl clipper elites have served me well for many years.

Do you know what makes this clipper better than the Wahl Color Pro? I've been using that cheaper model for 3 years so far. As an aside, I like the idea of corded instead of battery for long-term durability, which both of these have.

I bought an Oster Fast Feed 15 years ago. Never let me down and I've never looked back.

I’ve had the Wahl seniors for probably 15 years now. But a friend has had their Andis masters since the late 90s. We used them in high school. I don’t think you could go wrong with either, or even the Oster fast feed. The Oster classics I’ve heard are basically indestructible as well. I’ve seen some people mention if you take care of just about any clippers they should last. I clean and oil mine after I use them, and have since I bought them.

I really strongly feel that the Oster classic 76 is the ultimate BIFL. Instead of blade guards, you have different blades for each length. The blades can be sharpened. Every single part of the thing is designed to be replaced. The design is unchanged over more than 50 years. Buy one today, will it to your grandson one day.

I have been close cutting my hair for 30+ years. Oster Classic 76 still chugging along 000 clipper. Once a week or so. Amazing BIFL.

Oster Classic 76.

I actually just upgraded my Classic 76 to the Cordless 76, and like it a lot.

I shave my head about twice a week, and with a 00000 blade on the Cordless, I can do that wherever I please. Usually in the shower at the gym. Keeps cleanup super simple.

I also cut my kids hair with a longer blade than I use, and the cordless is way easier to wrangle.

No regrets on either.

I use a waterproof beard trimmer for this. I buzz my head every other day while dry before a shower, but the convenience of not having to brush and lube up or change the blades is awesome.. I also found it much easier to accidentally scrape areas of my neck or my head up when I was using Wahl clippers.

I got some refurbished Wahl Lithium Vario Clippers in 2017 for £20 when I started shaving my head and they just packed in this year so I replaced them with some wired refurbished Wahl Balding Clippers for like £30 that have way more power in them, used them once a week for about 6 months now and I reckon these will outlast the last set.
