Grip6 - The best socks and belt I've ever had.

I've worn these socks every day for the last year or so, through a very hot summer and a cold winter. My feet are always the perfect temperature and never smell, you can wear them several days before needing to wash them. I don't wear belts much, but this one is very good. All their products have a lifetime warranty, everything is made in the USA and the wool comes from the US, too (unlike darn tough). I have a few pairs of DarnTough socks, and I have to say I much prefer the Grip6 socks for how comfy they are. I also have a Grip6 beanie that I've worn every day this winter. I think they also make wallets, but I don't have one. grip6.com

Same here for saucony socks. I use them for rowing, cycling and just general dress down days. I buy an 18 pack once a year, and let them battle it out for survival of the fittest.

For that sweet sweet fit that never binds or bunches. As a long distance runner that never gets blisters or any other foot malady caused by inferior socks I swear by them and they still keep you warm when you get them wet well below freezing

I do the same thing. I also only wash them once I’ve used all pairs so that they are all washed equally and will wear out semi evenly.

haha, I'm actually lying because I leave all my clothes in the basket and just pull from there. Only thing that gets put away neatly are clothes I would wear out if I ever went out

Nah but fr same. I only started folding my clothes once it became a pain in the ass to remember which one was the dirty bin and the clean bin. And then i would have shirts and shorts that I barely wear (winter time) and no socks and underwear

I'm just telling you what he said, I have not tried them. But I will say that wool/synthetic blends are awesome. Don't knock it because it's not 100% wool, as if you're not getting what you paid for. I believe blends are superior, based on another brand I wear.

Darn Tough, SmartWool, and LL Bean "wool socks" all also use a blend. It's unlikely you even have any 100% wool socks these days.

I actually have a pair of 100% wool socks that my grandma-in-law made for me. It was a really nice gesture but that shit is so thick and scratchy, impossible to wear alone. However if it's really cold and I don't want to wear shoes, I can throw those bad boys over my socks and they are like booties, super warm.

Yeah I have both, though more Grip6 socks than Darn Tough. I definitely like Grip6 more, I just think they're more comfortable, also it's nice that the wool is from the US. One problem is that I don't like ankle socks, I basically only wear high socks, and Grip6 doesn't have any thin socks other than their ankle socks, as far as I can tell.

That's awesome, I've honestly never heard of Grip6 but I have 6 pairs of Darn tough and the few that ended up with a couple holes were replaced from them after shipping. Which I find reasonable. I will definitely check these guys out!

Are they as tight as Darn Tough? I want to buy-in but I have 2 pairs of Darns and they feel like compression socks. And I don’t have big feet at all.

For now I just buy a new bag of champions from Sam’s club every year and toss the old ones.

Agreed on the tight on Darn Tough It's almost weird. Like no other socks seem tight to me...theirs do. I always buy the largest I can get in Darn Tough and it seems to work out once they form a little.

FYI: This was my issue too after trying 5 different styles. So I wrote them to ask if they had any diabetic socks that aren’t as tight. (Even though I’m not diabetic). They wrote back “no” but try their “tactical” socks which aren’t as tight. I haven’t gotten any yet though so I can’t really comment if that’s true.

That tight fit is really jarring to me. That's what I came here to see. My one pair of thin/ultra thin Darn Tough socks are difficult to put on and make my pinky toes really uncomfortable. I got the correct size for my shoe size and don't have very wide feet. They also create a weird sweaty sensation for me, not necessarily hot, that I was specifically trying to avoid. I do love grip 6 belts (especially the carbon fiber buckle for airports and no ass) so maybe I'll try their socks. Hanes killed the particular x-temp sock I came to love and was using to replace all my socks. Their new "premium" version feels like t r a s h and is hot and sweaty

Socks are important

I thought about it but I found a commenter somewhere saying it was just longer, not wider. I know it was only one person but it's an expensive theory. The socks also have different styles but again, is expensive to try

I can attest to their belts. Wearing 1 right now, and took 2 of them traveling with me around the world for a year. Lightweight, rugged, stylish! (And as a vegetarian, high quality non-leather, which can be surprisingly difficult to find!)

Not a gripe about you, OP, just people in general - it is so bothersome to hear people constantly complain about the pricing of quality items. Seems like people are so used to pricing of mass produced items, made over seas, with crappy materials and construction that we can't get out of the mindset of "TJ MAXX" pricing...

To me it's more of a "entrance barrier" than anything else. If I don't know the fit, wear pattern, wearability, then it's easier to buy cheap "proven" stuff than expensive unproven stuff.

I agree, I never tried these socks but 5 years ago I splurged and bought 14 pair of darn-tough socks. I haven’t had to buy any socks since. I did have to send some back for the warranty but that was super easy.

What are toe socks like? When it's not cold I tend to go bare foot simply cause I find normal socks to be confining.

Insanely comfortable as long as you don't have an unusual foot shape. Very good temperature control, perfect sweat wicking, no hot spots/irritation... I use them as my liner sock for backpacking, and a thicker one for running.

Injinji is commonly recommended, though reviews indicate their new wool line doesn't seem to be very durable- I'd try one of their standard blends.

There's an art to getting them on properly as well, lol. The smallest toe is sort of difficult and I find it helps to do a sort of pinch-and-pull from the inside before you get the heel on

Meh. I gave up on my grip6 belt. It’s nice and light, but I could never get it tight enough because of the gimmick. Good idea, it just didn’t work for me.

Jic you had it wrong (like me), you don't double back the tail of the belt. It goes through the lip and continues that direction... For awhile I didn't realize that, and would try to double back the belt, and it obviously never worked.

Doing it the way you should and it works so well, for me at least

That's weird, maybe the buckle is defective? I haven't had this problem at all, I can get this belt way too tight if I want to. I usually have to loosen it a bit

Contrary view. I have two Grip6 belts and they just do not hold their position. No obvious wear. No user error. But I am constantly retightening them. They hold for a little bit, but then they inevitably start slipping. Tried everything to keep them secure, but they just lose grip. Not a fan.

I’ve got a pair of thorlo that I’ve had since 1995. I have a pair pair of smart wool from 2012 that I used mostly for running that racked up several thousand miles. Unfortunately both brands have severely dropped in quality.

I don't have any experience with their socks, but the Grip6 belts are absolutely phenomenal. I'm a big guy and I carry a lot of stuff so I wear my belt tight to keep my pants up. I tried all kinds of belts and they all lasted 1-3 months. Eventually the prong would tear through to the next hole, or the belt would crack and break at whatever hole I was using. Plus a lot of buckles would dig into my belly because they were thick or had metal loops jutting out of them.

I've worn my Grip6 belt almost every single day for the past 3 years and it isn't showing any signs of wear. I bought two because there was a sale but the second one is still in the box because I've never needed it.

Sometimes I'm tempted to buy more just to support their business but I just don't need any more belts 🤷
