Both their Soft Grip Can Opener and Good Grip Smooth Edge Can Opener models are great. I’ve had a soft grip standard model for nearly 20 years with no issues.

Soft grip/touch anything isn't BIFL imo. Well maybe they retain their function, but they become disgusting in no time, if used regularly.

I’ve had one for almost 20 years and it’s not disgusting. If you wash it regularly it won’t get gross.

I've had the same OXO soft grip model since 2003 and use it several times a week. Mine is as good as new.

It's very hit or miss, like my Steelcase chair has soft plastic arms and they are fine after a decade. But then I've had a wireless mouse with some soft touch plastic and it became gummy and sticky after a couple of years.
