LL Bean and Filson aren't what they once were for the most part.

ASKET is a Swedish brand that is all about simple staples, sustainably made that are long lasting. I highly recommend them for basics.

For me LL Bean can be pricy and any Filson purchase would have to be a major splurge, so there’s always a limit in terms of practicality.

On par with Filson.

If I had a more limited budget I'd probably have a lot more of Target's house brand Goodfellow in my wardrobe. The price/quality ratio is a ton better imo than a lot of your typical US brands.
