Lane was made in USA of solid wood as recently as a few years ago and may still be. Bassett is slso decent. Upscale would be Stickley, Thomas Moser.

Lane just fired all its employees, according to a salesman who sold us our furniture. They mentioned Stickley being good and some of Bassett (benchmade?) being solid wood.

That’s too bad. BTW there is very expensive furniture, including antique furniture, that uses veneer.

I was just going to say this as well. Basically veneer doesn’t equal bad. But if you’ve got kids and are going to hit it with sledgehammers or something, I don’t know 🤣 Edit: added veneer
