I have used Oral B battery powered brushes for over 10 years (not the same one). I wouldn't use any other kind. Try one.

Battery powered vs electric?

Battery. One battery. I use the lithium kind. These toothbrushes are typically under $10.00 at Amazon and Walmart. I remember buying them at Walmart for about $2.00 before Covid and price gouging.

My Oral B battery-powered brush is the same one of 10+ years. I made sure to keep a small stock of replacement brush heads.

I keep a stash of charged rechargeable batteries, thriftiest solution by far for the performance.

Good to know the sealed rechargeable models last that long though. I wonder if the OP could elaborate on what the cause of death was. Mechanical failure? Internal battery failure?

Mine uses AA batts. I also have a large collection of rechargeables, which I started collecting when my son was born. (For toys, you know.) Luv those rechargeable batteries!
