I'm looking for an all terrain trekking boots that are comfortable on the pavement, dog park, fields and woods (we have a lot of trails around) to go out with my exuberant Boxer pup. It's pretty wet where we live (Luxembourg) so I'm looking for something with good grip, waterproof and easy to clean (always have to hose down mud when we get back).

Lowa Renegade GTX is the locals/German favourite around but I'm curious if there are other similar models just to see what my options are.

I have a pair and can absolutely recommend them. I am about to retire them this summer after 11 years of backpacking and hiking. Still going to keep them for yard work boots though. Other brands you may consider would be Asolo and Scarpa.

I agree. Unfortunately what's available on the grounds for me here is very limited. I'm resorting to ordering different models in different sizes and lasts in bulk to try on at home and return the ones that don't fit.

I’ve worn Lowas for years. High country hunting/backpacking. I’ve tried many other brands and nothing (for me) is better. However, I’ve found the Renegades to be the least comfortable of those that I have. For me, the Zephyr is by far a more comfortable boot. It comes in a GTX model so waterproofing isn’t an issue. I also have the Camino GTX, but it is a little heavier boot for more extreme terrain.

Does Zephyr work well in puddles, creeks, mud and snow? It gets pretty wet for a good 6-9 months here in Luxembourg. Fields and woods are also wet from the dew in the morning. My dog and us get pretty dirty from outings. I need something that keep my feet dry and easy to hose down mud.

Renegade is a solid choice in given your description, well built and important the sole is pretty long lasting, the paths will take a lot out of many walking boots, but the low soles are a bit more flexible and last really well
