Reply to comment by FishWithAppendages in I’ve had this Dakine backpack for ~17 years and have taken it on all my trips. The zippers on this thing still work like they are new. All my other backpacks have had their zippers break off so this is my old trusty pack. by cumaboardladies
That’s what I’m afraid of. This thing has been through some SHIT and never let me down. I’m sure it’s one of those “they sure don’t make em like they used to!”

Unsolicited cleaning tip, soak that bad boy in hot hot water with cup of oxiclean and detergent til cool, maybe twice, then trim those stress threads and it'll look brand new again. Maybe scrub some stain spray into the pockets first too.
Great bag! I scour this sub for ideas of quality things to get at tag sales then clean them up! I really love the blue and white and am so impressed at how well the white has held up.

Use a dish brush and some oxiclean to scrub the shit out of it after it’s soaked in the water and oxi. It’s gonna come out looking almost new.

Really? Not concerned that the synthetic material will react badly to the excess heat?
