I got a dakine backpack with a “lifetime warranty”
The zipper broke so I made a claim but they wanted proof of purchase. I owned the thing for like 6 years at this point. I’m suppose to keep a paper receipt for that long?

You have to scan receipts. They're printed with a vegetable ink that becomes invisible over time.
