Been a Pixel person for maybe 4 years now, currently have the 7 Pro. I use Spigen off Amazon, affordable and seems to work well. I've dropped my phone plenty, haven't ever had a cracked screen or anything

Do you have to use the plastic screen cover?

Haven't put the sticky screen guard on any of my phones in ages. The gorilla glass or whatever it is they use for screens now is strong enough. I've always felt like that was putting a band-aid on something that isn't even broken.

Back in the day my iPhone screens would crack like regular glass, but nowadays I don't feel it's needed.

Just looked it up - it's Corning Gorilla Glass - very strong stuff as long as you don't work construction and drop your phone into concrete two stories up everyday

I work blue collar in a factory so I'll definitely be using one of the sticky screen protectors.

That said the Spigen comes with a plastic screen cover that I see a lot of people reporting issues with.

Is there a problem with the OtterBox Defender? I was looking to buy one for my iPhone 14 Pro Max and its lifetime warranty really appealed to me.

I've tried to use the warranty before and it's difficult to say the least.

I fidget too much with the charging port cover and it inevitably rips off, same goes for the rubber covering around the base which causes the rubber shell to separate.

The plastic has also gotten cracked on me once in a backpack.

But to my knowledge it is the most durable reliable phone case on the market that does an amazing job protecting your device.

I'm just cheap and hell on gear.

I see... If you want the best value, it's Spigen for sure. It's not the best case, but it's really rugged and resilient. I had it for years on my Samsung without any problem. My model didn't have the plastic screen cover, I used a separate screen protector

That seems to be what I'm coming back to. Thank you for the info.

Unicorn beatle pro is very good. I used to swear by the griffen defender but switched to the unicorn. Great cases.

You don’t need the defender it’s way too bulky. I always have used the Otterbox commuter it’s same durability but way slimmer and very protective. Has saved all my iPhones from many many MANY falls into concrete. Also get a cheap Amazon screen protector. You really don’t need the expensive brand for the screen protectors.

Ghostek nautical slim is a good option, not unlike the waterproof/dustproof ones made by LifeProof. Lanheim is a slightly cheaper brand that makes one nearly identical to the ghostek. Currently have the lanheim one on my pixel 7 pro, enjoying it so far.
