We use it twice a month to grate cheese for pizzas and once in a while for ground ham sandwiches.

Note: I know it's from 1970 because the date of manufacture is stamped under the lid.

Thank you. I bought it at a thrift-store on a whim as I had never heard of them.

I use my grandfathers once a year to make thanksgiving stuffing. That has been it’s only job (that I’m aware of) since I was a little kid. I accidentally took it home with me after the meal the year or so before he died , and I’m glad I did. My family went crazy taking stuff from the house, so much drama around a lot of what will amount to trash.

My neighbor threw one out in our moving room. My mom now has it. It was in mint condition and my mom loves it

Your neighbor put their trash in your room? What's a "moving room" might be a better question.

Haha the loading dock where people move their items, deliveries etc. people leave items they don’t need/want anymore.

My best find is this just had to take it in an have some valves and a part replaced.

I find all sorts of items. It’s just people who are lazy to donate properly or sell their goods.

🤣 it’s not a deal breaker. But when people spend $2,000 on a machine they want it to be perfect

Oh you fucking scored on this one, I’d take that thing in a heartbeat. I would certainly buy a used car before I bought that frustrating yet amazing espresso machine lol.

Do you have any recommendations for one of these with a hand crank that clamps onto the table (not suction cups)?

Damn! I hadn't heard of that brand in years. My mom still has and uses a Moulinnette like the one in this photo since the 80s.

Sorry in advance this may trigger 80’s kids

AnalogFeelGood OP t1_j6lkji3 wrote

Turns out, Mouli is actually an English word for hand-operated food graters. The word is derivated from "Moulin-Légume" which was patented in 1935 by Moulinex whose original name was "Le Moulin Légume". Everything is connected, we're one under the sun XD

I have a Mouli-Grater that I inhereited when my grandmother passed. When she died (back in the '90s) I was asked if there was anything from the house I wanted. I asked for this and the grand piano. I got both, but this is the thing I use most and absolutely cherish.
