That’s my wish. I am looking for a set of glass food storage containers from small to large, all using the same lid. Basically everything would need to be the same footprint but vary in height. Do they exist?
I will look into this. Not ideal from a storage standpoint (very small 1920s kitchen) but I will definitely consider!

IKEA has that. I’ve got a few different sizes for different types of stuff. Put a few years on them so far with no signs of wear. They also have two styles of lids, a snap on/watertight type lid and more of a press on cork lid. I use the snap on lids since I take lunches in a backpack and they tend to get tossed around. Would recommend.

IKEA 365+, but only two sets of 2 sizes have the same footprint and different heights:
6”x8”x2” (34oz) and 6”x8”x5” (61oz)
6”x6”x3” (20oz) and 6”x6”x4” (41oz)
Thank you for the clarification. There’s less versatility than I remembered, which is probably less than OP was looking for. But, it’s a good product and cost effective as well in my opinion.
I second this. Ikea and you can get cool functional color coded lids or wood lids. Very nice designs and durable!
They have glass, plastic, and metal containers And Plastic, Silicone, and bamboo lids All interchangeable in many sizes
Pyrex, except the lids fail over time. They are great while they work. And they last a long time. But eventually they will crack.
Is that the snapware line or do they have another one?
I imagine you can get replacement lids, right?
Yes, widely available on Amazon and eBay. I’m going on 15 and 20 years of using the same Pyrex for storing leftovers, mostly 2 and 4 cup round. My second set of lids is starting to fail after hard use.
I was just on their website, and it doesn’t appear that Pyrex has various size containers that all use the same lid.
You’re not going to find too many things that fit this description because you wouldn’t be able to nest the containers in the cabinet when empty. If every container used the same size lid, when empty they would still take up a ton of storage space.
You’re best best will be mason jars or Fido glass storage jars. Very few people are going to buy 10 bowls/ container than have to be stored individually next to each other and can’t be nested when empty. It’s a huge waste of cabinet space.
Why wouldn’t they be able to be stacked? I have some plastic Rubbermaid, three different heights, all the same lids. If you stack smallest on the bottom, tallest on top, they take up very little space.
I’m honestly surprised I’m having so much trouble finding something that fits my description. I figured someone somewhere would design a full set of various size glass containers with only one size lid.
Because if they all have the same size lid one cannot physically fit inside of the other to be nested.
What Rubbermaid containers are you talking about. Will you post a link/ picture?
If the glass tapers in from top to bottom they can be stacked. I had some containers like this a while back but the plastic lids sucked so wouldn’t recommend them. But it is possible to have them stacked with same size lid.
True, but then you’ve only got like three different sizes possible, because you can only change the depth. There are not going to be a ton of glass options that fit this description because glass containers that stack like this tend to get stuck and can break so much more easily. That’s why it’s easier to find plastic containers that work like this. It’s even a problem with restaurant grade pint glasses which are nearly indestructible. Ever had a stack of those little devils decide they are better together? Such a pain to get them apart. Next time you’re at a bar notice the pint glasses. Most places won’t store them stacked because as the cool after being put away warmer from washing they have a tendency to get stuck. It happens with Pyrex measuring cups too. Plastic can be wrenched apart. Glass can be too, but sometimes it makes big giant mess. Stacking glass containers that are all the same size inside of each other makes them significantly more susceptible to shattering as the expansion and contraction with the temp change as well as the extra tight banging around is just not a great mix and makes stuff break so much quicker.
I have seen some glass that has silicone on the outside which would help a ton, but those seem to be bested still. Maybe some company out there makes stacking ones? That could be a possibility. I just haven’t found any.
The plastic are the 'easy find lids' they do glass 'Brilliance' with different heights/same lid but not sure if they fit inside each other like the plastic ones do.

Length and width is the same, height is the difference. Certainly doesn’t work with nesting but space wouldn’t be as big of an issue as they can still stack kinda). They’ll ruin them though as the inside of the lip will eventually crack and chip.

Came here to say this. There are different sizes of lids but a lot of their jars use just one or two of the lids. Plus it’s all glass. For fridge storage just set the glass lid on top, no need to fuss with the ring and clips.
The larger sizes get away with using the same lid by using a ‘tulip’ shape where the jar has a wider diameter about 1/3 of the way up.
IKEA 365+ collection has glass storage containers in three shapes (round, square, rectangular), each of which comes in two sizes with interchangeable lids. This image illustrates what I mean, there's a tall & short version of each shape.
They also have a variety of lids, like the bamboo ones in that image, glass ones, and plastic snap-on ones.
I am looking into these. I’d be happy with two sizes of rectangle and two sizes of round. Four types of containers with two lids total sounds pretty close.
Honestly, Rubbermaid makes this, and they don't break. We have leftover containers that are the same footprint and nest, and the difference is the height. Lids are the same size.
And then we have some larger food storage container that are designed the same size with the same lid. Only the height is the difference.
If Rubbermaid isn't your jam, try searching for modular containers. Many will have the same lids used on all sizes.

My criteria included various size containers with the same lid, everything in your search are the same size containers, which obviously would have the same size lid.
If you want to search more, you may need to try a specific request in a forum of some kind since you’re having trouble on Google. Maybe someone has come across what you’re looking for and would be happy to share the information with you.

Wide mouth Mason jars, they come in lots of sizes, have the same lid and are quite durable and inexpensive
