Edit: I didn't search the group first and found a post asking for Immersion Blender Recs 3 months ago. But if anyone has experience using Immersion Blenders for making smoothies, that'd be a plus!

I have a Hamilton Beach immersion blender I got for free that gets the job done, but the blade attachment is plastic and has allowed water into a spot I can't clean so it always looks and is dirty.

Would love recommendations for one with all metal attachments/blades! Living in a small apartment and instead of a regular blender I like to use an immersion blender for smoothies to save on space, so must be durable and have at least 2 speed settings. Additional attachments like frother/whisk like some have are not necessary. Thanks in advance

Bamix. I had a Braun for years and it was okay, but upgraded to a Bamix, it's amazing. It has a few different blades for different tasks, speed options, a spice grinder attachment, the entire bottom half of the body it metal, the blades are dishwasher safe.

I make smoothies with it in a metal cocktail shaker and it even blends the ice well.

I have my mom's old Bamix from a long time ago (I've owned it for 10ish years, my mom owned it for decades before that). And both of us have used it heavily. Still works a dream.

It's amazingly well made.

Which Bamix do you have/recommend?

I bought a basic one off eBay, which I guess would be equivalent to the Classic. If I came across a higher wattage one at a yard sale I'd probably upgrade again, but I'm perfectly happy with the one I have.

Bamix invented immersion blenders and it's the only product they sell, so everything is good and all the parts are interchangeable on all of the machines throughout the history of the company.

Bamix. Only Bamix.

Nothing else comes remotely close.

Thanks! Read that in the post from a few months ago. I'll look in to it!

I've had a Cuisinart with 3 heads (whisk, blade, and weird choppy blender container) for 20 years and it's still awesome.

Recently bought a Braun for doing soups in the Dutch Oven. It seems solid and works well for that. For daily smoothies I much prefer This Nutribullet It’s nice because it’s basically hands off once you load it, maybe a shake or two. Our smoothies are heavy duty too with all frozen Beets chunks, Strawberries, and Açaí packs. It is very good at its job and since we use it daily I can justify a single-use appliance. It is decidedly not bifl however purchasing the extended warranty somewhat mitigates that.
