We’re trying to find a quality couch manufacturer that won’t break the bank but will last a while. Pet friendly is a huge selling point. The internet just constantly suggests Costco and Wayfair. Any help is appreciated!!

I bought a room and board couch a few years ago that’s held on quite well despite two playful, scratchy cats. If you can make it into a showroom to see the fabrics, maybe try that. Their performance fabrics seemed pretty pet safe. Price point may be a bit higher than you’d like but it was in the realm of reasonable for us.

I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned here, but Flexsteel couches are amazing. They will last forever are super comfy and can be found on sale frequently.

Article.com makes some nice mid century modern couches that are pretty inexpensive. I have a leather one that has stood up very well to daily use from myself and dog over the past 5 years

Came here to suggest them as well. I have this one and it’s been holding up great in a house with 3 dogs and frequent guests. The leather is good quality as long as you condition it regularly, and it’s pretty affordable if you’re on a budget. I also love that all the cushions come off and can be re-stuffed if it starts to go flat.

I have a La-Z-Boy couch that is coming up on 10+ years and it’s still super comfy and the cushions are still firm. Full disclosure, I did buy it from a consignment store, but I think that speaks to the quality of the couch that it’s still holding up in good condition.

We have a leather reclining couch from them and it’s amazing. Great quality and high quality materials. We also have two La-Z-Boy recliners. One that’s 9 years old and another that is almost 25 years old (given to us by a friend). They’re a little noisy, but my god they are comfortable and bulletproof.
My lazyboy recliner couch and loveseat are not holding up.The leather is starting to wear through.
We are heavy users. 40 hours a week with 2 dogs. The couch gets slept on daily (don't worry it is my adult child that likes to sleep on it when home and not bed time) I think it is too uncomfortable to sleep on.
All repairs under warranty.
We had the mechanism repaired.
We had it stuffed. (It was getting flat)
The lever to activate the recliner broke.

I like my Braxton Culler sofa and loveseat made by North Carolina craftsmen, three years old and looking/sitting like new. The website has a store locator. I also loved my Mitchell Gold sofa, 22 years old with well-loved velvet upholstery, still looking pretty good and still providing comfortable seating. If you really want quality, your best best is buying American made brands, often sold only through established furniture retailers or “to the trade,” which means through an interior designer.

Apt2b uses solid alder for frames and a higher grade foam. When the cushions do wear out you can just refoam them as they are zippered.
Seems like the performance material is wicked stout and I love how it feels. We chose regal for the color/material.
I ordered swatches from SO MANY COMPANIES and Apt2b's performance fabric passed my "wipe off spaghetti sauce," "water rolls right off," and "pick at it with a knife to see if fabric snags" tests with flying colors.

I bought a sofa from Clad Home last year and love it. Wooden frame and made in the US. The performance velvet feels is so soft, and cleans up well. Though I do normally keep it covered with a blanket to protect from my cats. clad home

I know this won’t help but we had a couch and a love seat three kids two foster kids. Lots of dogs had it 1718 years sold it for $700 last year to buy the new one. don’t remember the brand name or where we got it but we bought it new

American Leather and Luonto make great sofas and sleeper sofas. You can get something decent at Ikea for less than Wayfair with better quality. For me I do a combo of these.

I don't know if anybody has mentioned it yet, but used Chesterfield couches are awesome. Depending if you consider them expensive or not. I love the fact that they don't get worn out, they just start looking better with age and are very easy to clean as they are leather. Just love them.

I can't speak to the buy-it-for-life quality, but I just bought a couch and loveseat from sabai.design. They seem really well-made, plus sustainable, made in the US, diverse ownership, etc. Anyway, I'm pretty dang happy with them so far.

Lovesac. Not cheap but it is high quality. The covers are machine washable, it's fully modular, and they sell individual replacement parts for everything. It's very comfortable and I love being able to really clean the upholstery.
I initially balked at paying their price, but after extensive comparison shopping it was the right choice. There are 25% off sales several times a year plus the ability to combine with some other discounts. I haven't yet had to deal with their customer service but I have heard good things.
