Osprey. If anything happens to it, they will fix or replace it regardless how old it is.

Edit; also I recommend buying if from REI, if possible. They have a 12 month return policy, no questions asked. Their staff will fit you for the pack and add weight to it so you can get an accurate feel, before being on trail.

Amazing bags. Couldn't agree more. I have 2, no issues with either of them and I've done some stupid shit with them. One I've had for ~ 10 years and use it for travel, hiking, day use, etc.

REI typically has pretty good deals on osprey bags, especially this weekend for Presidents' Day.

r/backpacks is a sub specifically for this type of question. The community there has a lot of combined experience and knowledge.

With those prices, you should steer clear of decathlon. They’re too low to indicate any bit of quality

The one that I have is the Osprey Kyte - I believe it’s women specific in size (I’m 5’3” for reference) and it fits me perfectly. The quality I’d say is pretty nice and definitely durable to last

I’ve had good luck with Macpac and Mountain Hardwear

Osprey. Their sizing options are really good, and they make the most comfortable packs I've ever used. (Plus they will repair or replace if something goes wrong.)

Whatever you choose, I highly recommend going to a store and trying the pack on in person. REI and probably other outdoor stores will help you fit it and let you put some weight in it and walk around the store for a bit to make sure it's comfortable.

Standard issue US Army medium rucksack. It's a newish addition to the issued gear and one of the few pieces of kit I was upset to part with when I left the service.

Alternatively, one of the old ALICE packs. I still have two--one was mine, one was my grandfather's.
