I know this sub absolutely loves darn tough socks so I decided to get a pair. They are great! I really like them but they keep sliding down a bit. I have the mid-weight boot socks. The socks fit really well on my feet but my calves just may be big. seen some advice to get the size up which for me would be xl. What would you guys recommend?

Yeah I hate the fit of darn tough socks. My experience with them (in terms of wear) has been no better than smartwool, and smartwool socks fit so incredibly well. I love Stance socks too, as a running sock anyway. I have one pair that has about 500 miles of running on them and haven’t worn through yet.

I like the micro crew socks they sell. They set below the calf so you don’t have to worry about them stretching over your calf muscles and then sliding down.

I recommend you talk to the horse's mouth via https://darntough.com/pages/size-chart and not idiots on the internet. Socks are based on shoe sizing. Full stop. No and then.

From personal experience, this wasn't the case at all. I went by their sizing and had to return about 7 different pairs of Darn Toughs. They either were too small or the heel wouldn't fit right.

So its better to ask for sizing help from the internet and not post your height, weight, shoe size, male, female or any other helpful or unhelpful metric and use that advice to purchase socks vice use the company fitment guide?

Please read the above slowly again and answer.

I think you misunderstood what I said. I went by Darntough's size chart. It didn't fit. Multiple people at different size ranges have mentioned the same thing. For some people, the socks either were too small or were too large (when going one size up). There's also slight variations in how each sock fits between the different styles. Took 7 tries.

I did follow the sizing guild and they don't fit right. I was just wondering if anyone had had a similar experience and what they did or any recommendations to other brands. I wear a size 10.5 and got a large like the chart said.

The experience of someone else matters zero. If you have a question, call the horse's mouth as "they didn't fit right" is vague as shit and not one can help you. Respectfully, call the maker and seek the best advice or buy something else.

I mean I did. I checked their QNA nothing really. All I was asking in the original post was if anyone has had a similar experience. Some brands run weird where they will fit differently. I also said in the post where they weren't fitting right which was round the calf as they slipped a bit. Other people have responded and stated they have had similar issues. I find that it's nice to get other people's opinions and experiences because it helps create a more informed decision :)

You ask Timmy in Lawrence, KS. Timmy is 4'5" and his opinion will skew your decision. You don't know Timmy's height as he didn't state it like you didn't state your height.

You ask Sally in Chula Vista, Ca. Sally weighs 586lbs and her opinion will skew your decision. You don't know Sally's weight as she didn't state it like you didn't state your weight.

I can go on with the variables and you can go on taking advice from everything but the horse's mouth.
