Looking for something to pull BBQ off of the smoker. The gloves I have been using are OK, but they now have a couple of small holes formed in them that makes them heat up way too quickly to be effective. The current gloves are silicone exterior with some kind of fabric interior. Would prefer the whole glove to be waterproof instead of just the exterior like my current gloves, but willing to sacrifice on that point.

BIFL?

18” Edlund tongs

Or

Use what the pro BBQ folks use, a folded up cheap kitchen towel. No gloves in sight.

I use welding gloves. I don’t know how old they are but has to be around 10 years.

Ya that works until you want to grab a brisket or pork butt. What I see the pros use is always just the disposable rubber gloves over top of insulating gloves.. guess that works but I would prefer not having to use disposable gloves every time I use the smoker.

Gloves like this take serious abuse and won't last more than a few seasons. Silicone lasts a long time, but dexterity is a problem. Ove Glove can be good, but not with a long cuff as far as I remember.

I use the Lanon liquid silicone heat/cold resistant gloves. These have treated me very well over the last couple years for BBQ/Grilling related activities.
