I just threw my toaster oven down the trash chute, it’s eaten my last piece of toast. Can you recommend any that don’t eat thin slices?

The bottom is inadequate to hold the toast, so it would get partially sucked into the lower area and was impossible to retrieve.
It was a toaster top and oven bottom. A horrible design I’ll never get again
Oh wild I've never seen that. I have a Breville mini. It is a great toaster with one fatal flaw no review I read mentioned: the rack is in the exact middle, so unless your toast is 2 dimensional, the top toasts more than the bottom
It’s the Hamilton toastation, hopefully out of production. Also caught pizza on fire more than once
Lol I just googled it, what a ridiculous design. A regular toaster or a regular toaster oven would be totally fine.
Oster 4 slice stainless pop-up toaster, well built, has a wire clamp on each side of your toast that centers it for even browning and adjusts to accommodate widths from bagel to thin sandwich. Also has a button for "frozen" to do that just right without changing the "brown-ness" dial. It handles super thin slim sandwich bread with ease. Ours is probably 9 years old.
Was it a pop-up toaster or a toaster oven?
Oven
Magimix has a great toaster design I think you’ll appreciate for smaller slices.
Toaster oven!! They’re the absolute best and you can melt cheese on things
Dualit
Balmuda toaster. You pour water in the top and it cooks it with steam. You can literally use the stalest ass bread and it'll come out fluffy and fresh.
Is this thing really BIFL though?
Interesting - never heard of this before.

I have a cheap Hamilton Beach that seems to take its sweet time toasting things. Maybe something like that? I think it was $11 when I bought it 10 years ago.

Why would any toaster oven damage bread? A slice toaster sure, but not seeing how a toaster oven could do this.
