I went to Berkeley for undergrad and people were able to go to the very top of the clock tower (Sather tower) for a really nice view of the campus and the city. I always found it really therapeutic. Is there anything like that here in Cambridge?

Edit: I know the bridges. I’m looking for something with a lot more elevation…

I don't know about buildings, but there is a nice view of Boston from the highest point in Mount Auburn Cemetery and good views including Cambridge from Prospect Hill near Union Square, Somerville.

Mount Auburn Cemetery tower, top of Prospect Hill, or top of Blue Hills (not really Cambridge/Camberville) but Boston area)

The view from the roof of Tisch Library on the Tufts Campus is very nice since the campus is on a hill!

It's not exactly in the town but Robbins Farm Park in Arlington gives a nice unobstructed pano view of the skyline. Atop the excellently named Bussey Hill in the Arboretum also gives a nice view.

It's even farther out but the Blue Hills reservation has some great ridge walks where you can enjoy high and far views of the city, though at this point it's a bit far without binoculars.

Are you still at school? One of the big ones in Cambridge? Some good spots require a university ID.

Yes and yes. I have a university ID

If it’s a Harvard ID, the 10th floor in the Smith Center has a nice “common spaces” area called the Riverview Commons.

Hours and stuff on this page: https://commonspaces.harvard.edu

MIT has several tall buildings, dorms and otherwise.. The Green Building was slated to get some nice study spaces, but I’m not sure what’s available there presently, or what effect the planned renovations may be having.

The observatory at the top of the science center has great views, too. As do the tops of some of the taller undergrad towers, Billy Jimmy, mem hall (but that’s rarely accessible), et cetera.

100% the Tower at Mount Auburn Cemetery which is on the outskirts of Cambridge but has an amazing view of the whole area. It’s not always open this time of year so you may need to call them and ask or wait until spring. But Mount Auburn itself is incredible in spring, do win-win.

The views from the Charles River are pretty nice. Too cold this time of year, and the opposite of high but you can rent a kayak fire a reasonable amount in the summer.
