Hello!

I’ve been to Thirsty Scholar twice but didn’t really pay too much attention lol. I saw they said they have live music every Saturday.

For those who have been more than I, or are regulars, or have just been there on Saturday nights, what’s it like?

Mostly I’m asking:

  • how busy is it, if we came late-ish anywhere from (9-10) would we be able to get a table?

  • what’s the music like? Is it just the right volume to have a good conversation or the type you can’t hear each other and speak very loudly?

  • what’s the vibe! It always looks very warm and lots of people are laughing!

(Essentially I’m asking if this is an ok spot for a date, where we can get a good spot and be able to talk easily. I was just too embarrassed to say that out loud but over it mid typing this lol)

I thought about calling at asking but didn’t know if that would be weird. It’s supposed to be raining something fierce tonight, so if you think that will effect anything!

Thanks all (:

You can pretty much always get a table or a spot at the bar. In my experience though the music volume is such that it gets a bit annoying to sustain a conversation over it, although it depends on the exact type of music. I love Thirsty Scholar though, great food and drinks, super nice staff, and it's never as crowded as similar places in the area like Trina's.

I was there early evening on a Saturday with friends recently and we found the (not live) music volume on the louder side for conversation. We got a table where it was bearable (I think depending on where you are in relation to the speakers, some spots are better than others), but there were definitely spots it would have been tricky to hear.
