I'm trying to move back to Cambridge, I lived in East Cambridge from 94 - 00.

Frankly I have no idea where to start the process. Are there areas in the city that are more affordable, like the Port?

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks!

What do you consider “affordable”? It’s difficult to give suggestions without a price range.

east cambridge has changed quite a bit since 2000. For the better IMO. Tons of stuff going on

East Cambridge or East Somerville. Everything since 00 has skyrocketed in price. Best of luck.

We've lived in East Cambridge for the last 6 years and have gotten VERY LUCKY with our rent/landlord. We pay 2600 for a 2bed 1 bath which, compared to similar units in our neighborhood, still seems like a really good deal. It all depends, as others have said, on what you consider affordable.

We used Trulia & Zillow primarily to (exhaustively) search when we were looking.

There are still good and fair landlords, but they're harder to find. Don't give up!
