I'm looking for a new gym. Any recs? Doesn't necessarily have to be in Cambridge. Can easily commute to Boston, Somerville, etc. Please tell me which gym and why you like it, thank you!!

I like GymIt! I go to the Brookline location but I think there is one in Watertown too. I like the amount of free weights they have but I usually only go during off hours. It’s also pretty reasonably priced. You can schedule a tour ahead of time to see if it’s a good fit.

I like planet fitness. I have black membership so can go to any of them. It’s got all the basics. Cambridge one has free parking too

Where is the free parking at the Cambridge location?

Directly across the street (mass Ave)

Do they have any signs? I'm paranoid of getting towed

Yes they do

Thanks it sounds stupid but a few years ago I looked at this location and couldn't find the assigned spots that they spoke of . Given how easy it is to get towed from private lots I gave up on joining this gym.

It’s just directly across from the main entrance and has posted signs. Behind the building is a paid lot you can use too. Or Cambridge residents parking close and meter parking out front too. Or the T station

Depends on what you’re looking for, but if you like to lift I’d say Total Performance Sports in Malden. They have power racks, great benches, plates, different kinds of barbells, bands, strongman equipment, yada yada. I haven’t been in ages but they’re legit.
