Last year, I used at home veterinary. They come to your house and do the routine exams/shots. They have a $150 fee to come to your place. So, it will cost me around $380 (fee included) to have that done for my cat this year.

I was thinking of looking at other places, but they don’t add how much everything costs on their website so it’s hard to know if it makes sense to switch.

My cat is a nightmare in her carrier, which is why I went with at home vet, but if their services are much more expensive (even without the $150 fee), I might bite the bullet and take my cat to a vet’s office.

Thank you!

Edit: thank you all for the info. I’m going to try and schedule an appt at the cat clinic. Right now, they don’t have any openings for new patients, so I’ll keep checking. I live less than 10min walk from them, so it would be very convenient and much cheaper.

I recommend Cambridge cat clinic! Our cats are also nightmares so they gave us a light sedative to give to them and now it’s peachy. If you’re just doing once a year check ups, it should be cheaper, but I would double check your needs with their fees to be safe.

That sounds reasonable for a vet, $150 fee for travel time in lieu patient time. Consider how fucking awful traffic is here.

I paid $133 for a rabies update and a exam at winter hill vet clinic for my gremlin. Obviously it may vary for yours.

I go to Cambridge Cat Clinic. Last year, my cat's yearly checkup was $75, plus another $60 for vaccines.

Office visit to Cambridge cat clinic is $75, other tests and shots are additional. I usually go when my cats need vaccines so it comes out to $130-$150 for the visit (rabies is~$30, FVRCP~$30).

We really wanted to use Cambridge Cat Clinic but their books finally opened and were full the same day 😭 seems like it’s still worth trying to get in, based on the responses in this thread!

$325 ish for two cats total, yearly checkup with two shots each at Porter Square vet. Assume half that for one.

I get a zip car to bring them. They yowl the whole way because nobody likes driving but are good at the vet.

Everyone here recommending Cambridge cat clinic but we've been trying to get in there for two years with no luck. They are always booked and not even taking names for a wait list. I must be cursed or something.

We used to go to the Cambridge cat clinic, but after a traumatic experience with them, we now go to the Huron Veterinary Hospital in Somerville and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Our cat can be a nightmare sometimes, but the vets there are great and have treated us far better than CCC. Similar prices as well.
