You would live in Cambridge to explore life

You would live in Holden to complain online while you rot away

This dude has been cutting up for a while on these metro boston area subreddits. So much so that there are memes aplenty. OG meme

I have lived in Cambridge for years and have never experienced any of this. Are you a Russian troll or?

I love that this is OPs only post on Reddit.

Edit: the have the same post in another local sub now. They are either a bot or really bad at life.

I’ve been cultivating a conspiracy that this dude is trying to offload real estate in Holden. It’s an attempt to increase the home value of the property. Either that or it is the mayor’s staff? I’ll entertain any other explanations over at r/holdenhero

You just posted the same thing on r/Brookline. You should just enjoy your favorite city and not criticize others for their choice in living location. You know nothing about why they chose to live where they live. I don’t get the point of these posts.

ETA: Spelling corrections

That is literally their job. They are doing their job if you parked in the wrong spot or did something incorrect according to city rules.

The holden hero strikes again! Come for the memes, stay for the absurdity of people loving holden.

Holden Mass doesn’t have Lamplighter Brewing

Edit: also just want to add. Underperforming students? How do you know this and, unless you have family in the Cambridge school system, why did you look into this? Weirdo behavior.

Also, your mention of “homeless people” in this weirdly massive list of things you don’t like about Cambridge is pretty rich coming from someone who lives so far away. It’s not wild think that people without secure housing would gravitate to an urban hub like Cambridge. Cambridge also has a lot of resources for people in that situation. But nice job including that as an issue for issue, alongside something like “parking too expensive”. Ffs.

I’ve actually been to Holden. Biked through it while I was riding my bike to Amherst. There are certainly problems with Cambridge, but calling Holden more bikeable than Cambridge is just so laughable. And that’s why I put up with the problems in Cambridge - I like living in a place where people actually commute by bike.

Culs-de-sac by definition lead to nowhere. It can be pleasant to take a neighborhood stroll in one them, but if you want to actually get from one side of town to the other, you’re going to need to get on a main road. And in Holden, like many towns in North America (but not Cambridge) doesn’t really have provisions for bicycles on its arterials.

Mass Ave is probably one of the principal routes through Cambridge, and has protected bike lanes on good chunks of it. Memorial Dr is another and the river bike paths runs parallel. And once you arrive at your destination, there is actually bike parking.

Astronomically high cost of living yet a lot of poor people live there. Huh.

Cambridge could eliminate poverty within its borders very quickly by cutting off social service and housing assistance programs. Instead, it chooses to support people who would not otherwise be able to live there.

I don't want to live in a hellscape of backyards and parking lots. Much happier somewhere I can walk or bike or take $2.40 public transport to get anywhere I want, work, friends, community events.

I literally have never heard of Holden until yesterday. Wtf with all the Holden shills here? You make it sound like any other suburb that's just cars and grass and houses
