Moved over from Boston fairly recently and having trouble finding a place with a good table(s) and regulars who like to play. Or is it worth crossing the river to play at some of the more established places?

Flat Top Johnnys (who I read may be moving to Allston...).

Also interested in finding bars with pool tables. Flat Top Johnny’s used to be reliable but the pandemic essentially killed it

Tasty Burger in Harvard Square has a table in the basement bar.

I noticed sometimes they close the downstairs tho - I wonder what kind of schedule they follow for that

Flat Top really was the spot on this side of the river (even though they had cut back on the number of tables after the fire/well prior to the pandemic).

It seems like most of the other spots that have a table or two just sort of has them plopped randomly on the floor, often with bad angles/obstructions or situated in high traffic areas.

I know that Trinktisch beer hall over in Belmont has at least a couple of tables but I don't know what the floor plan looks like. May or may not suit your needs.

Used to go to flattops a ton, but since it moved there seems to only be State Park that has a table since Highland Fried closed.

If you head over to Allston you have Allston Billiards or the Sil that still have a vibrant pool scene.

As we move into the winter, a lot of the pubs with pools tend to close due to the decrease in crowds willing to go out in bikinis and speedos. You do get an upsurge around Christmas on the Santa Speedo run downtown, but if it's pretty cold, said pools can be frozen over. Every winter is different. Follow me on insta u/ShriveledBlueBalls
