That's what I heard few months ago - that a rich family was planning to build a hotel with stages to replace ME. So far nothing seem to came out of those plans.

The same rich family the currently own it, in conversations with the city to build a hotel and keep the music venues at the bottom, lame imho

Super lame. I wish people with money invested into smaller/mid-sized venues instead of hotels and luxury apartments.

No signs of ME shutting down...yet. Saw a bunch of shows there just last month.

Yeah - I remember reading that too. But this was back in September and it seems like ME is still going strong. Doesn't necessarily mean it will go on forever like that, of course...I'd hate for this city to lose another small venue. Losses are deep enough already as it is.
