There's a skating rink in the Lechmere Canal park, one in Gov't center, and one at Frog Pond in the Common.

The DCR ones are free of charge as long as your being your own skates, it’s $5 to rent! Not sure about the rest.

I've been to the free skates at Veterans memorial on Somerville Ave in Somerville. This summer they had free skate on Monday and Wednesday from 2-4pm. It was pretty crowded with beginner level figure skaters practicing their routines. The website is always up to date with when open skates are.

The bruins practice arena Warrior Ice Arena at Brighton's Boston Landing allegedly has a few. Their site is so weird though, good luck finding the times.

Swan Lagoon at the Public Garden is currently frozen, lots of folks skating there last night. It'll probably melt this weekend though
