Hello! I have some clothes I’d like altered and have been wondering if anyone has suggestions for some good tailors in the area.

I’ve never been to a tailor before, just as a note.

Ideally it is a woman but not necessarily (again I’ve never been, I don’t know how close and personal they get haha) and I’d love to support a black business! Both would be nice but not required, first and foremost just want a kind, skilled and fairly priced tailor to help make my clothes fit how I want!

The tailor at keezers (le courtier) on Mass Ave is Black. Not sure how that business arrangement works. But I also liked Porter sq dry cleaners like the other post said.

+1 to Dick Robasson, the tailor at Keezer’s / Le Couturier. He’s also the owner! He’s my go-to guy for tailoring. He bought Keezer’s a few years ago, and merged his tailoring business with it & moved both to the current Mass Ave space near Porter.

As for “how close do they get”, the answer is “very”, but don’t be alarmed. Mr. Robasson is quite professional & very kindly.

Seconded! He is the absolute best and has done an impeccable job on every piece of clothing (from white silk crepe pants to corduroys to a DVF jumpsuit) that I’ve ever brought in. He is always worth the trip to get there!!!!

Came to recommend Jack! For what it’s worth, he is an immigrant and has been a long-time staple in the area. He is incredibly skilled, knowledgable, and respectful.

Cambridge Street cleaners at 506 Cambridge st, the owner of the dry cleaning, Vartan, used to work at Mr. Sid for years and he is great with any alterations, even on coats and pants or dresses that need invisible sewing. Keezer has opened a new location at 618 Cambridge st,, if you are looking on that side of the city.
