Any predictions or “wishlist” ideas for the Central Sq Artist & Craftsman space? What was it before?

I know a lot of people are so bummed about A&C closing, me included. :-( I hope they re-open somewhere. As someone who passes through Central Square every day, I wonder what that space will be filled with next? Running a business in a basement is probably a bit undesirable? I don’t know.

I wonder if Yamba right upstairs is hoping to expand down into that space?

This is crazy since there’s already one down by the river but I would love to see a Trader Joe’s open there. And it’s since harvest co-op used to be above I wonder if the loading docks situation is still good for a grocer?

Also, what was that space before it was A&C? Was ir just storage for a business above? I think remember a place above called “Jax Liquidation Outlet” and I think maybe it was their stock storage area?

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to daydream and hear other people’s ideas.

TJs would be nice.

I don’t see Yamba expanding down there. They already have a lot of wasted space upstairs.

I think it’s going to be a restaurant.

A small music venue or bar would also be cool.

Not sure - we were just chatting about what the plans were for the space and the the business and they mentioned it should be event space. It'd be cool if it was live music though.
