i tell beginners/intermediates to watch the videos on youtube by the user "fuzzy yellow balls". it's all free on yt and excellent.

maybe do some group lessons or clinics. mike mercier at harvard has them everyday at the murr center at the main harvard athletic complex in allston, i don't think you need to be an affiliate to join.

i don't think you need to be, only if you wanted to book the courts, but not for the clinics. i know he does private/group lessons too. he's a good guy who has been around forever, highly recommended. i have no idea what he currently charges though but back when i was a student, i think each hour long clinic was like $5, i left boston ~15 years ago after finishing my fellowship.

I also wanted to get into tennis without ever playing before so I signed up for classes at CCAE.

The price was very reasonable and the instructor was good. I’m still bad at tennis, but I improved so much.

It’s only 4 classes, but the instructor kept giving us classes until it was too cold to play outside.

How much was it if you don’t mind?

Once the classes are over how did you keep up with the game? Did CCAE help you find a group that you can meet regularly/ practice with?

I’m worried that I won’t be able to practice and get better after the 4 sessions get over. :(

No, the instructor told us he could continue with the classes. But I haven’t practiced since thanksgiving since he only teaches outdoor.

Hoyt field almost daily from like 10 in the morning till dark lots of tennis players. I'm sure some people over there will be willing to help. Plus there is a big practice wall between the basketball court and the tennis court.
