Yes the biker woman. She was on a motorcycle and would dress in all black tight leather. U must be a real Columbia OG to remember her lol. Happy cake day btw

Yes! She had another outfit that reminded me of Laura Croft. She was in great shape and seemed to be enjoying her life. Hope she is doing well.

My friends and I called her knightrider…. Not sure why. A black helmet has nothing to do with the show knightrider, but that’s what stuck.

Yup, but haven’t seen her in years.

There used to be two very noticeable bikers around Columbia.

The bikini women with the helmet I would see her on Snowden River and sometimes near the mall and there was a guy I would see on Broken Land and Stevens Forest area.

I believe the gentleman's name was Althar or something like that. I am probably way off. I used to have a shirt with his silhouette on it. But I remember seeing her too.

Hope both are doing well.

Yes!! I used to see her on 175 about 20-25 years ago! My out of town friends didn't believe me!

There is a whole fb page for Althar (not sure the correct spelling) and the last time i saw a post I think he was doing well. He rides every single day in order to preserve his mental health.

I haven’t seen him riding since he was using a cane. He hangs out at the intersection of Little Patuxent and Hickory Ridge road. Just about every afternoon between 3:30 pm and 6pm he hangs out in the road and leaves trash on and shoved into the gaps of the near by bench.

Athar Khan is his name. There are a few YouTube vids about him.

I remember bike lady too. She used to come to the Best Buy (worked there when I was in high school) back when it was where Hobby Lobby is now. She was so striking!

The popular nickname was “Ninja Cyclist”. She wore a black cycling kit, and used a mask for aerobic/low o2 training (by restricting breathing the body adapts to use oxygen more efficiently; some people go to high elevation areas like Flagstaff, AZ for this, but I digress).

Anyway, she used to come into Borders from time to time back in 95-96. At one point I remember knowing her name, along with a few of my coworkers, but I can’t remember it now.

Here’s someone’s blog post from 2007 http://writing-the-wrongs.blogspot.com/2007/09/ninja-cyclist.html?m=1

More legendary was Walking Charlie. That man was a gift, and it was heartbreaking what happened to him.
