Hello-Looking for a Japanese Steak House/Hibachi with good sushi to celebrate a birthday. My go-to would have been Nichi Bei Kei, but they are no longer around. Does anyone have recommendations for a Japanese Hibachi/Steakhouse with good sushi? Currently looking at Ginza of Tokyo in Laurel, Koto Sake in Columbia, or Sakura in Columbia.

This is for my kid's 18th bday, so any recommendations welcome.

Thanks!

UPDATE- Settled in Ginza Tokyo in Laurel, based on recommendations here. Thanks all for the help.

We've done Koto Sake for a birthday party and it went well. I can't really comment about the quality since I'm not very picky. But they did a great job hosting two dozen-ish people.

Koto was the first Hibachi place we visited when we moved here 9 years ago and we keep coming back!

I personally think ginza has slightly better quality but at a little bit higher price. That being said Koto is still good and has a better space for a larger party if your expecting a lot of people

Did you mean Sakura in Laurel or Ellicott City? Either way I’ve been going there for years and I’ve always had a good experience.

I didn't know if they both had hibachi grill tables, but looking at both. Thanks for the recommendations!

Just a heads up I saw someone post on the next door app 2 weeks ago that everyone that ate at Sakura in Ellicott City that weekend got food poisoning from the rice. It was reported to the health department and some kind of bacteria was found in precooked rice that was left out too long. I know it can happen anywhere at any time but it’s still fresh in my mind and I just could not fathom eating there again so soon after hearing about an incident.

Ginza is the place to go. Last time i was at koto they had a large roach crawl across the hibachi surface as we were eating our apps 🤮

Hosted a party of 20 at Koto Sake (called and spoke to them first) and they were extremely accommodating. Allowed us to split up checks in advance, open to bring our own cake, and very friendly - to include birthday song for the birthday boy. Delicious food of course as well! :p
