I need to Elkridge/Columbia Md area come December. I am looking for a 2 bedroom apartment in a safe community where I can run around and walk my dogs. If anybody has any options / advice for apartments that would be super helpful. Thanks!

I really enjoyed my 6+ years at The Elms at Kendall Ridge!

Dog friendly, some nice walking paths right behind it, a small dog park (not the best quality but it's still a fenced in free-play area), and a generally quiet community.

I lived in the Sherwood Crossing apartments in Elkridge a number of years ago. They're behind the shopping center with Costco/Trader Joe's. Nice enough neighborhood. It's a big complex for walking, and I used to pop over into the trailer park just down the street or other neighborhoods to run.

Price is a really important consideration

The Bluffs at Fairway. Amenities are basic but less flimsy than a lot of newer construction. Neighborhood excellent- rent increase for this year was also incredibly modest compared to just about everything else in the area.

I live at the Verde at Howard Square and I really like it. A nice townhouse neighborhood next door, close to 95, and I feel safe as a single woman.

Clary's crossing in Columbia is an amazing and safe apartment. It has a nice dog park and a good sidewalk loop nearby to walk and run on. But in general the apartments in the hickory ridge area have dog parks and are very safe.

Check out Huntington Square in Columbia. There is a huge Soccer field attached where a lot of dogs play. There is a big trail attached, 4 or 5 mile trail that goes into the woods. It’s a small and pleasant community.

Check out Monarch Mills, they seem to be a great price around $1850. Hard to get into though, units go by quick.
