Hey Everyone,

Unfortunately my fridge has stopped working and I am looking for recommendations for a good repair company. I am not under any warranty on the fridge.

Thanks!

I too have found more and more appliance problems aren't fixable.

Ours just went up several months ago. I found most of the repair companies won’t do anything with freon. We had a slow freon leak and ended up just getting a new one. One guy who looked at it (not from a company) said the line was laying in the tray where the water evaporates and it corroded, or something like that. Anyways, it was decided the cost would be too much and we just got a new one. Sadly, the ones they make these days are nowhere near as good as the one we had, but that’s a different issue.

Look up Free State Appliance Service on Yelp. I think it’s a one man shop but I’ve spoken with Brian multiple times (I’m assuming he’s the owner). On multiple occasions he’s given me tips on some appliance issues over the phone and in one case he was able to troubleshoot my fridge issue over the phone, I ordered a new evaporator fan on Amazon and replaced it myself and had it back up and running really quickly.

Came here to recommend Free State as well. Brian is an honest guy who will do it right for you.

Do you know what's wrong with it? If it's something like the compressor you're better off saving the cost of the repair visit and just buying a new one.

Source: paid $75 to find out my compressor was bad and would cost more to repair than replace.
