Hey y’all any recommendations for dim sum in CT? I’m in Fairfield county area but would be willing to travel a little bit for a good spot. Thanks!

I second this one. Norwich has a large chinese population because of the casinos and you get some legit good real chinese food here.

They’re not that good anymore.

The new one is oriental bar and grill down the other way when you get off exit 2A

My favorite "hole in the wall" dim sum restaurant is Dumpling House in Milford right on the Boston Post Road.

Wide reaching menu...try the DanDan Noodles, and scallion pancakes as appetizers, then go from there (the menu is dumpling biased, but there are "true dim sum" options).

Restaurant/decor is generic, but the food is anything but.

They're my favorite. I live in Naugatuck and make the trip regularly.

Sadly, they closed permanently during Covid. Haven't found another place in CT doing the old-school carts.

Great Wall is open. Ate there a few weeks ago. They don't have as many people pushing carts. Seemed understaffed. Dim sum is excellent.

Green Tea in Farmington was my go to. Haven't been in a few years so not sure if it's still as good

Aww really? That bums me out if they don't do Dim Sum anymore. They were really good

Same owners though and the lunch and takeout are still great (for the area)

The only options I know of are to go to Chinatown in Flushing for the real authentic dim sum, or White Plains for gentrified pricey ass dim sum.

Not really Dim Sum, but Ramen & Bao in Oxford is great.

Respectfully have to disagree. Their ramen is not good, and I’ve seen their pig-shaped bao sold in the freezer section of grocery stores.

Makes me question if everything else is handmade or store bought.

They don't have everything, but Good Hope Dumpling & Ramen House in Norwalk does excellent versions of a number of the classics like char siu buns and shumai. (not served dim sum style, though, this would just be for regular takeout) Noodles are pretty good too.

Can’t say it’s the best because it isn’t open yet but a new spot is opening in Milford. “old Town” dim sum & hot pot.

Next to G mart
