It isn't really a place for swimming or any type of water activities like that. I believe there are signs warning against it. It's not someplace I'd ever suggest someone would really want to visit - I definitely wouldn't recommend getting in the water there as it gets deep awfully quick. If someone were to have an issue there, they're in serious trouble as no help is coming quickly.

There are far, far better places - and far more accessible places - for activities in the area and, especially on weekdays, you may be the only one there to enjoy them even at the height of fishing season/summer/whatever season you're there.

Thanks! I’ve stopped down there hiking the mattatuck and saw trash like people hang there. I was unsure if the signs were related to the trail or he wood surrounding them. Especially the way they’re angled.

I was asking for a friend who works at a facility that takes their clients swimming. They were looking for swimming areas off the beaten path. I told them I thought this place was off limits, but couldn’t find much info.
