Hello,

I'm a student who's likely headed to UConn School of Law this year and I'm actively in search of an affordable apartment in a safe environment near the law school. So, apartments in the West End of Hartford, West Hartford, and Downtown Hartford are currently on my list of options. But I noticed that the cost of housing in West Hartford and Downtown Hartford is quite pricey compared to the West End. This led me to take an interest in West End Rental in 192 Whitney Street, Hartford, CT 06105. There are no reviews by tenants posted online but since my number one priority is safety, I would like to know if 192 Whitney Street, Hartford is considerably safe. To anyone who has experience living in the area, I need your help! Would any of you recommend 192 Whitney Street for grad students?

Took a look at the map on google. Looks like a pretty nice neighborhood away from where most of the scary stuff happens. It’s also very close to the Hartford/West Hartford line. It’s super close to Elizabeth Park too which is a beautiful park.

I've lived in the west end all of my life. That's about the best area you're going to be in for Hartford. Tons of students live in those 2/3 family apartments, a few really diverse bars and restaurants on Farmington Ave/Whitney St intersection. Elizabeth park down the block and of course you can walk to Uconn Law quickly. Never had an issue walking anywhere around that area by myself.

I lived about a block and a half away on Kenyon St. for a few years. As others have said, that is a very nice area of Hartford. Very safe. The address you gave is even closer to Elizabeth Park than where I was, so to me that’s a big plus.

This area is the best you're going to get in Hartford for the price. A general rule is anything north of Farmington and you are fine. I'm on Evergreen and it's sketchville. Being that close to the park it will be both safe and quiet.

I'm an attorney and first of all I hope you've thought this law school thing through carefully because most attorneys regret their choice of profession. Lol. True.

OK, now to your question. I just did a foreclosure sale 2 streets over and I was very favorably impressed with that area of Hartford. Go for it. And good luck!
