Around 1:50 this afternoon I was traveling I-91 north and to the right just before Exit 5 (State Street) there was a helicopter really, really low just hovering in the area near Bear’s Smokehouse and the building with the storage units (used to be Robby Len). It almost looked like they were trying to land on a roof they were so low. Around 2:50 p.m., when I was headed back on I-91 south, what I’m assuming was the same helicopter was hovering very, very low over to the right side of I-91, maybe a bit past Exit 6. The helicopter appeared to be tilted to one side as if someone was trying to look down toward the ground.

I would have liked to have gotten a much better look, but needed to keep my eyes on the road. While it was unusual and interesting, as a driver I found it to be very distracting and having the potential to cause an accident (which I’m hoping didn’t happen).

Thanks! Interesting, and I’m glad I’m not the only one wanting to know what this is about. I would have loved to have taken a video, but I was a bit too busy . . . driving. Also, from the slightly elevated portion of I-95 I was on, it really appeared to be extremely low.

Thank you for explaining. It was just such a weird thing to see, and it was really hard to keep from looking. You’d think they could use drones, which would be a lot less distracting, especially right by the highway.
