I always liked Cove Beach better. It has some nice lookouts. The beaches. And less goose poop on the trails.

Mianus River Park has more elevation variation if you like your ups and downs.

The Stamford Museum and Nature Center has a lot of trails as well.

I don't know if the Mianus River Gorge is open. It's off Long Ridge Road over the line in Bedford. That has several trails you can mix and match to set your distance.

I checked cove out the other day. I liked it as well but the one con for me was that there were few trees/little shade. Wish there was more active cleanup of the goose poop. Noticed it at cove as well.

I'll check out the others that you mentioned. Thanks!

Don't forget that just over the NY border is the Pound Ridge reservation. That place is great.

I was thinking Bartlett as well. It has a good mix of trails: boardwalk over wetlands, traditional CT woodland trails, and walks through landscapes gardens. It’ll be great in May/June.

There is a Cove Island nature sanctuary that is more shaded and less overrun with geese. It is across the marina from the main park, and past the ice rink and baseball field.

Mianus is also great. If you go further up into Bedford there is an even nicer stretch at Mianus River Gorge.

Lake Mohegan in Fairfield is a nice trail with water scenery. Waveny park trail loop in New Canaan is also great and not too far.
