My long distance lover is turning 50 October 29th. This man loves, loves golf! But he rarely gets to play, because of….well, you know…life 😉

he works 60+ hours/wk, is a widower raising 3 teenagers in sports…the man is busy. lol. And when he actually gets a chance to play….he typically just uses a local course.

He is also just a really nice guy. He takes care of everyone else first, with very little left for himself.

So I would love to spoil him and get him on a fabulous golf course for his birthday weekend.

I researched the “top 10” courses in CT….but it seems most of these clubs are private, and would require a member allotting us a guest pass.

Being a Florida girl myself….my contacts are limited in your area. 😎

I have three questions, my fellow Redditor’s…..

  1. Is it even really feasible to plan on playing the last weekend in October?

  2. Is there any type of work around with the private clubs?

  3. Worst case scenario, what is the best public course? He lives near New Haven, so ideally no more than 2 hours away from that area?

Thanks for all of your guidance my fellow Redditor friends!

(…. And yes we definitely have a golfing weekend planned in Florida later this year… But he wanted to spend his birthday weekend surrounded by his family and friends…..Hence, golfing in the arctic tundra. ;)

❤️ thanks!

Yes you can play the last weekend in October. Could be 70, could be 40 degrees. I would look at getting on at Lake of isles near foxwoods casino if I could.

Sterling Farms in Stamford is a public course and is pretty solid. Not terribly expensive either.

Oak Hills in Norwalk is also a good course

Look up loughies executive par3. It's in mass but not far You can play 4 par 4 holes for 13 holes and it's a beautiful, to notch course. Also mini golf and a shooting range. Not sure if that's public. Crestbrook is nice too...
