I'm from Nj, but when I was really young I had this hot dog in Ct on my way home from Boston and it was sent from the heavens, but I don't know the restaurant or even the city. I remember it was in a cute little town/city and it was, for lack of a better term, the girthiest hot dog. Like I had to fully, for lack of a better word, gape my mouth just to barely fit it in. I've been dying to find the hot dog again ever since. I also believe I remember having shark nuggets there but I could be completely wrong about that.

I doubt this is enough information but maybe it rings a bell to someone and the place would make sense on a drive from Boston to Jersey.

Has to be right off either 84 or 95, most likely 95.

“Hummel big bite” is a locally produced dog that is how you describe. Available at good butchers around the state.

There's a boarded up place in New Britain that may have been it? Never seen it open though; it's not too far off the highways there.

There used to be a place in Cheshire off of 84 that had long dogs, too. I believe it's called Blackie's. My Dad loved that place back in the day.
